Edmond J. Keller is Professor and Chair of UCLA Political Science Department, Director of the UCLA Globalization Research Center-Africa, former Director of the James S. Coleman African Studies Center at the University of California-Los Angeles, and recent recipient of the 2008 ASA Distinguished Africanist Award. Xin Zhang is expected to receive his Ph.D. from UCLA in spring 2010 and specializes in comparative politics. His research interests include: market building, property rights, corporate governance, state-business relation, law and development, and the broad issue of “governance”. His main area of focus is Eurasia and East Asia, especially Russia and China.
