Notes:
Matt Baum joined the faculty in fall of 2000 after completing his doctoral studies at the University of California at San Diego. Dr. Baum examines the influence of "soft" news programs, an increasingly popular source of political information, on perceptions about war, foreign policy, and presidential decision-making. His article "Has Cable Ended the Golden Age of Presidential Television?" recently appeared in the American Political Science Review. His courses explore international relations, political communications, mass media, public opinion, and foreign policy.
