Undergraduate Minor
Political Science Minor
The Political Science minor introduces students to political processes and institutions.
To enter the minor, students must have an overall grade-point average of 2.0 or better and file a petition in the Undergraduate Suite at 4269 Bunche Hall.
Required Lower Division Courses (10 units): Any two lower division political science courses that apply on the major may be applied toward the minor including Statistics. PS 6 and any other elementary statistics course may be taken for credit but only one statistics course may be used to satisfy minor requirements.
Required Upper Division Courses (20 units): Any five upper division political science courses. For students declaring the political science minor 2007 Winter and thereafter: At least THREE of the five required upper division courses MUST be completed at UCLA's Political Science department. Enrollment in upper division political science courses is restricted during first pass to Political Science majors and pre-majors. At second pass upper division courses are open to political science minors and others not enrolled in the major.
All minor courses must be taken for a letter grade, with an overall grade-point average of 2.0 or better. Successful completion of the minor is indicated on the transcript and diploma.
